What is Superannuation?

Superannuation is a compulsory retirement savings scheme imposed by the Australian Federal Government and managed by the Australian Taxation Office.

It is designed to ensure workers retiring from the workforce have enough money saved to provide for a comfortable lifestyle and financial security during retirement.

Superannuation is deducted from workers earnings at a rate of 9% and deposited with Superannuation Management Fund Companies who manage these deposits via investments.

Temporary workers share the same superannuation and income tax obligations as permanent workers. However, in the case of superannuation deductions it is recognized that temporary workers will not be retiring in Australia and are therefore one of the few working categories entitled to a refund of superannuation contributions on departure.

Superscoopa.com can organise this refund for you.
